Connect to Core, setup new location, add modules, update

Before your first installation

  • If you use an Android device, install TapHome Official app from Google Play. TapHome Next app is a beta version.
  • If you use an iOS device, install TapHome Official app from App Store
  • If you prefer using notebook for configuration, install a free Android emulator Nox App Player and then install TapHome Official app from Google Play within Nox. It is necessary to set your time zone in Android in Tools → Settings → Date and Time Settings → disable automatic time zone a manually set your time zone.
  • Launch the app and create an account. All your future TapHome installations will be linked to this so called Global account.

No internet on the local wifi network / offline setup

Connect Core using a LAN cable with WiFi router. We recommend using your own router. Connect your phone, tablet or notebook to the same wifi network.

  1. When you launch the app, on the first screen on bottom choose Connect via LAN
  2. Core will be discovered on the local network with the name <New location>. Tap it.
  3. On the next screen, enter location name so that you can easily identify it later between your other installations, e.g. enter the name of the customer and the location. Enter access token, it is the 16 digit code printed on Core. Include support@taphome.com into the last field so that we can support you later on if necessary.

In case another installation partner will attempt to connect the Core, or if you log out of the application, input User name admin, Password admin.

Internet available on the local wifi network / online setup

Connect Core using a LAN cable with WiFi router with internet. Connect your phone, tablet or notebook to the same wifi network.

If you are a new partner, you may want to leave on site your wifi router with a SIM card with internet. In case needed, our Tech Support team would be able to assist you remotely.

  1. Launch the app. Login with your Global account.
  2. Go to Menu → Settings → Add location and wait a moment. Core will be discovered on the local network with the name <New location>. Tap it.
  3. Enter location name so that you can easily identify it later between your other installations, e.g. enter the name of the customer and the location. Enter access token, it is the 16 digit code printed on Core.

Add modules

Tap Menu button and choose Settings → Hardware → TapHome Bus → Find new devices. Modules which are connected to Core will show up.

Remote access

Please do not forget to add your Global account into users list so that you can access the location remotely. You may also want to add support@taphome.com if you and your customer want us to be able to assist you remotely.
