    1. Adding ZigBee gateway to TapHome Bus

    To add the ZigBee gateway to TapHome Bus, use the same procedure as for any TapHome device. In the TapHome Bus window, choose - ‘Find new devices’ - and wait until ZigBee Gateway is added to bus. Now you can find it in the TapHome Bus devices:

    2. Adding New interface

    In the Hardware options, choose ‘Add new interface’ and select ZigBee from the list:

    In the ZigBee interface click on ‘ZigBeeGatewayId’ and choose from previously found ZigBee gateways.

    3. Initialization of ZigBee Network

    When you are creating a new ZigBee network and the list of devices added in the ZigBee interface is empty, it is possible to initialize new ZigBee network:

    If you click on this option, warning with description shows up. If you continue, all the previously stored settings in ZigBee gateway will be removed and new network PAN ID, Extended PAN ID and network keys will be automatically generated and stored in the gateway.

    It is also necessary to select the ZigBee channel. Please note, that ZigBee channels are in the same radion frequency band as WiFi network:

    Try to use a channel that does not directly match the channels used in your WiFi network.

    4. Reinitialize ZigBee network

    If you have already created ZigBee network and added devices, but you have to change the ZigBee gateway because of failure, first add a new ZigBee gateway instead of old one and then click on Reinitialize button:

    All previously added devices need to rejoin the network - some of them just need to be switched off and on (like light bulbs) - other need to be activated (like push buttons) and some need to be set into pairing mode again.

    5. Adding ZigBee devices

    In ZigBee, network devices are added during a procedure called pairing. To set a device into pairing mode, please follow the instructions in supported devices or device’s user manual. Before setting a device into pairing mode, it is necessary to click the ‘Find new device’ button:

    Now, pairing with ZigBee Gateway is enabled for one minute. Please note, that only one device should be set into pairing mode at one moment. The device is always added as ZigBee module. During pairing, the ZigBee device is investigated for supported functions, and according to the results, TapHome devices can be added to the module. After new device is found, return back to the ZigBee interface and choose a module from list:

    If the device answers with all the parameters during the pairing process, the Manufacturer Name and Model identifier of the device are displayed. There is also a check box - ‘Enable adding all device types’ - this can be used to add any device to the module, or if the device does not correctly inform about supported functions. When this is unchecked, only supported devices are offered when you click on the ‘Add device’ button.

    If this check box is checked all actually implemented devices are offered.

    Selecting device from the list will create a device in module list - for example for previous device, selecting RGB Light will create ZigBee RGBW light in module devices list:

    Please note, that there are ZigBee modules that support more than one TapHome devices - for example temperature, humidity and pressure sensor - in this case you have to add two devices - temperature/humidity sensor and pressure sensor:

    6. Deleting ZigBee devices and modules

    Just like for all other TapHome devices, it is possible to find a ‘Delete’ button in the service settings to remove devices. In case of ZigBee, you can delete each device in the module separately, but in case you delete the module, all paired devices will be removed at once. In fact, deleting the module also means sending a ‘leave’ command to the ZigBee device. Devices operating on the main power supply accept this request and leave the network - then they are usually ready to be paired to a new ZigBee network. Devices operating on battery are usually in sleeping mode, so it is suggested to wake them up (by pressing push button, reset button, etc…) before sending of the ‘leave’ command. In this case, if the device does not accept the ‘leave’ command it is removed from the actual gateway anyway and should be reset manually before it can be paired to a new network (please see descriptions in supported devices).
