A house where every room heats to its own thermostat

In a new-build home of almost 300 square meters in the Liptov region, the TapHome system controls 19-zone motorized shading that responds directly to data from a local weather station. The control unit covers not only the exterior blinds and weather sensors, but also zoned underfloor heating and a safety circuit with flood protection.

Heating with hysteresis for every room

The underfloor heating in this house is not controlled centrally but zone by zone. Each room has its own thermostat, which the control unit uses to assess the current heat demand in that space. The system then drives the actuators on the manifold using hysteresis, keeping each zone at a stable temperature independently of the others and optimizing the operation of the heat pump.

Shading that follows the weather station

The building’s facade is covered by 19 separate zones of motorized shading. The blinds are controlled by data from the weather station, which protects them from damage. When the sensors detect a critical wind speed, the control unit automatically retracts the blinds to a safe position. In normal operation, the shading instead helps regulate passive solar gains indoors.

Flood protection

The installation also includes a safety circuit designed to protect both the building’s technology and its interior. A motorized valve on the main water supply is linked to flood sensors. If the system detects water on the floor, TapHome immediately shuts off the main supply, preventing extensive property damage before anyone even notices the leak.
