Košická Nová Ves — her first smart home

In a new-build family home in Košická Nová Ves, TapHome runs 20 lighting circuits, 8 blinds, a heat pump for underfloor heating and ceiling cooling, mechanical ventilation, an alarm with a siren, and a weather station — the installation was delivered by DK-ELEKTRO. For the homeowner this is her first smart home, and after a few months of use, the feature she singles out as most valuable is being able to control the house remotely.

Switchboard

The switchboard with a TapHome Core and IO modules sits in the utility room and runs the entire installation. Everything — including the alarm and siren — goes through a single bus, with no separate security system.

One heat pump for heating and cooling

A single heat pump handles both modes: underfloor heating in winter, ceiling cooling in summer. The house doesn’t need a separate AC unit.

Lighting

Kitchen with LED strips set into ceiling coves

The 20 lighting circuits break down into 13 single-colour LED strips, 4 CCT strips, and 3 fixtures. The CCT strips, set into ceiling coves in the living room and kitchen, shift colour temperature from warm yellow to cool white; the single-colour strips fill in the staircase and other accent spots.

Blinds

The 8 external blinds are operated from the app or from a façade-mounted touch panel.

From the homeowner

“We had no prior experience with smart home, but I am glad we decided to go this way. What is definitely great is being able to control it remotely — for us, that is perfect.”
